Sarita Shrestha

Sarita entered an arranged marriage at the age of 20 and now has two daughter who are 12 and 9. Her husband works as a driver and the family has been living with extended family members since their home was damaged in the 2015 earthquake in Nepal. Sarita's greatest regret is that she was not able to receive an education. She was raised by a single mother who did not have the financial means to send her to school. Her family currently has no land to grow crops on, so they must buy everything from others. The money she earns from knitting will help pay for their basic expenses and school fees for her daughters.
